Procurement principles DCA procurement is guided by a set of principles. They are the backbone of DCA procurement decisions and the foundation and compass for everyone involved with procurement. Get to know the principles and let them guide every procurement decision. Trainings If new to DCA procurement, take advantage of the eight available trainings based on the procurement manual. Seasoned procurement professionals can get updated by taking a refresher course or tap into the relevant training sections. Manuals and guidelines The DCA procurement and logistics manuals are applicable to DCA projects and programmes. They exist in combination with other organizational guidelines such as guides to USAID and UNHCR procurement as well as a Field office start-up guide. Procurement committee The procurement committee makes important procurement decisions. Please organize the committee early to ensure participation and timely implementation. Get up to speed on the committee’s responsibilities and how to set it up. Design a procurement plan The “devil is in the detail”. Please design procurement to fit the project by identifying what the project needs, when it is needed, the cost involved and how to procure. We have developed a step-by-step guide to help do that.
