Together with our partners, DanChurchAid monitors both the actions that bring results in our programmes and projects, and the challenges that prevent us from achieving our goals in our projects and programmes. In the latter situation, DanChurchAid and the partner work together to find solutions to such challenges in order to ensure successful implementation. Monitoring takes place on an ongoing basis when working on projects and programmes and consists of project visits, meetings, reporting and follow-up. In this way, we make sure to keep track of our experiences and create learning opportunities both internally and with our partners.
Guidelines and tools for monitoring and evaluation
DanChurchAid has developed guidelines and tools to ensure that their experience is used to assist with future project and programme planning. In addition, documentation is also provided about DanChurchAid’s supporters, aid recipients, and Danish and international donors.
In addition to ongoing monitoring, DanChurchAid conducts independent evaluations, which are available on our website. The evaluations include a thorough assessment of the results at the end of a project or programme. The purpose of these evaluations is to learn from both good and bad experiences in order to improve our work and achieve better results in the future.
These evaluations ensure that the experiences are documented, and that the lessons learned are used constructively. DanChurchAid’s evaluation policy describes why and what we evaluate, as well as the criteria and principles to be followed.
Programme evaluations will be published on our website. Since a large number of evaluations are performed at the project level, they cannot be found online but can be obtained directly from DanChurchAid.
